Dosage TRULICITY 3 mg solution for injection
- Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- Your doctor may recommend a dose of 0.75 mg once a week to treat your diabetes, either based on your individual needs or when used as a standalone medicine.
- When used with other medicines to treat diabetes, your doctor may recommend a dose of 1.5 mg once a week.
- If your blood sugar is not adequately controlled, your doctor may increase the dose to 3 mg once a week.
- If further reduction of blood sugar is required, the dose can be increased to 4.5 mg once weekly.
- Each pre-filled pen contains one weekly dose (0.75 mg, 1.5 mg, 3 mg, or 4.5 mg). Each pen contains only one dose.
- If you have used more than you should trulicity
- If you use more than you should, talk to your doctor immediately. Too much of this medicine may lower your blood sugar too much (hypoglycemia) and may make you feel sick or ill.
- If you have forgotten the application
- If you miss a dose and your next dose is scheduled for at least 3 days, inject your dose as soon as possible. Then inject the next dose at the next scheduled time.
- If your next dose is scheduled in less than 3 days, skip the missed dose and inject the next dose at the next scheduled time.
- Do not use a double dose if you have forgotten the previous application.
- If necessary, you can change the day of the week on which you inject the preparation, provided that 3 days have passed since your last injection.
- If you cancel the application
- Do not stop treatment without first consulting your doctor. If you stop treatment, your blood sugar may rise.
- If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

- This medicine may slow stomach emptying, which could affect other medicines. Tell your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse if you have recently taken or might take any other medicines.

- Warnings and precautions
- Please talk to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse before using this medicine if
- You are a dialysis patient, as this medicine is not recommended.
- You have type 1 diabetes, as this medicine is not suitable for you (type 1 diabetes means that the body no longer produces any insulin).
- You have diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes that occurs when your body is unable to break down glucose due to a lack of insulin). Signs include rapid weight loss, feeling sick, sweet-smelling breath, a sweet or metallic taste in your mouth, and an unusual smell to your urine or sweat.
- You have serious problems digesting food or food staying in your stomach longer than normal (including gastroparesis).
- You have ever had pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), which causes severe abdominal pain that does not go away.
- You are taking sulfonylurea medications or insulin to treat your diabetes, as low blood sugar (hypoglycemia) may occur. Your doctor may recommend a dose adjustment of these other medications to reduce this risk.
- The medicine is not insulin and should therefore not be used as a substitute for insulin.
- When starting treatment with this medicine, fluid loss/dehydration may occur in some cases, such as vomiting, nausea, and/or diarrhea, which may lead to impaired kidney function. It is important to avoid dehydration by drinking plenty of fluids. Consult your doctor if you have any questions or concerns.
- Children and young people
- The medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age as it has not been studied in these patients.

- Ability to drive and use machines
- This medicine has little to no effect on your ability to drive or operate machinery. However, if you use it together with a sulfonylurea or insulin, it may cause low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), which may impair your ability to concentrate.

- You can use your pen at any time of day, regardless of meals. If possible, you should always use it on the same day of the week. To help you remember, you can mark the day of the week you will inject your first dose on the pen carton or on a calendar.
- The medicine is injected under the skin (subcutaneous injection) of your abdomen or thigh. If someone else is doing the injection, it can also be given in your upper arm.
- If you wish, you can inject the same area of the body each week. However, please make sure you choose a different injection site within that area.
- It is important that you check your blood sugar as directed by your doctor, pharmacist or nurse if you are using this medicine with a sulfonylurea or insulin.
